The long version is after a lot of back and forth internally, along with waiting to hear back from our partners and venue owners in Walhalla in the week after the storm, they asked us to hold off, as the community just wasn't in a place to host an event that quickly after such a devastating natural disaster. Which immediately solidified our decision to cancel the event and put our efforts into next year's Holler in Walhalla.

As many of you know, major portions of highway between Walhalla and nearby major metropolitan areas were also severely damaged and would have made travel for many of our participants nearly impossible. Not to mention the storm heavily damaged all of our routes and they wouldn't be able to be repaired in time for the event. We didn't end u holding a community event however we did do a call to action to our email audience about sending tarps to Waynesboro as they'd been hit particularly hard. And we were so happy to hear of multiple Gravel Rollers doing their part to help the relief efforts.

We feel that we made the best decision for the health and safety of our entire community, in the host city, our riders, and our staff.
