Bird Dog 2024 : A Review of Gravel Riding in the SE.
Hey Rollers!
Bird Dog 2024 was so much fun. Thanks to everyone who showed out for it, donated to the animal rescue group and helped us make it one of the best Bird Dog’s to date!
We’ll be back for another Bird Dog 100 on May 10th, 2025 so be sure to lock in your spot! And start the beach training now, because even when you try to escape it, the sand always finds a way back.
Huge Shoutout to Tina at Scaredy Cat Rescue for taking donations for the animals, and for you rollers for making so many great donations and contributions through art purchases!
I think my favorite part of the Bird Dog course in 2024 had to be Birdville. The buildings and trees, with that super green grass was one of the most cinematic looking roads I’ve ever seen. Still being very “green” myself when it comes to the Southeast, that’s the type of stuff that gets me super jazzed up. I love seeing cool old stuff in beautiful landscapes. I’ve always been drawn to the dilapidated barn in a field surrounded by mountains. Where I grew up is cool because you’ll be 60 miles up a forest service road into the deep wilderness and see remnants of mineshafts or hunting shacks. But no one knows the history of it, it’s been lost in the silence of the woods, and sometimes lambs, there’s a lot of sheepherders where I’m from. Whereas back East, theres so much more history, it’s wild. Well more written history. Sad kinda, dang.
How did we end up here… I was going to review the Bird Dog Course… Well I want to, but I didn’t ride it, so maybe you could help me out and let me know what you thought of the course in the comments?
